Dr. Ali M. Dohan is an internist in Indianapolis, Indiana and the owner of Greenwood Internal Medicine. Originally from Baghdad in Iraq, Dr. Dohan immigrated to the United States in 1981 and has been a proud Hoosier ever since. He received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1989 and has been practicing medicine for over 30 years.
Dr. Dohan's work extends far beyond just patient care. He has also co-authored multiple medical publications and studies, with his works being cited thousands of times over the past 30 years. At the Krannert Institute of Cardiology, Indiana University, he researched and examined the advantages and limitations of a variety of methods for detecting coronary artery disease. His research into echocardiography has helped push foward our understanding of the heart and improved methods for diagnosis of cardiovascular ailments.
Zahra Dohan (nicknamed Zuzu) is the manager of Greenwood Internal Medicine and the wife of Dr. Dohan. She graduated from the Baghdad Medical School in 1993 and immigrated to the United States in 1996. Her and Dr. Dohan married in 1997 and have 2 children. Zahra handles the business operations and management of our practice. With over 25 years of experience, she is an expert in handling insurance and medical billing, so that our patients can focus on their health instead of their wallets.
With a warm smile and a welcoming demeanor, Sarah is often the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring that everyone feels comfortable and cared for from the moment they walk through our doors. Sarah is a receptionist and front desk associate for Greenwood Internal Medicine. Driven by her passion, she loves to help people navigate their healthcare troubles. At one time, she was certified nursing assistant and has and extensive background in home healthcare. An animal-lover and mother, she is a close friend to the Dohan family and a instrumental part of our operations.
